Memory
orma reads what you give it and connects each note, meeting, document and saved page to the people and topics in it. You file nothing. Scroll to the foot of any page to see what it connects to and what orma picked out of it.
Using it
- Open a section at the foot of a note, saved page or document. You linked is always open; the others stay folded until you click them.
- Answer a suggestion. In Suggested links, ✓ (Link) moves one into You linked. ✕ (Dismiss) stops orma suggesting it for this page.
- Fix a detail where you see it. Point at a line: the pencil (Fix) edits it, ✕ (Remove) deletes it. The sentence it came from shows too.
What you see
| You linked | What you linked yourself with /, and suggestions you accepted. See Notes. |
| Linked from | Items that link to this one. |
| Suggested links | Items orma thinks belong here. |
| Known · topic | Details orma holds about this page’s main topics, up to two. |
| Related context | Items orma connected on its own, grouped by kind, with the threads this page belongs to. ✕ (Not relevant) removes one. |
A document also has What orma read here at its foot: every detail read from it, and how much of a long document was read.
Details
Details are dates, deadlines, amounts, decisions and who does what. orma reads them in notes, meetings, documents and email, and each keeps the sentence it came from.
- Suggested change: appears under a line when newer information disagrees. Keep holds the old one; Update takes the new.
- From Claude (a connected assistant) marks a detail an AI app wrote. Confirm makes it yours, and so does your own material saying the same.
- A person’s page shows the first three under Known, with the rest one click away.
Deadlines
When a detail has a deadline within the next 90 days, like a renewal date in a contract, it appears in Home’s New section 21 days before. The card quotes the sentence it came from.
- Remind me later brings it back in 7 days, never past the date.
- Ignore removes the reminder everywhere and keeps the document.
- See document opens it.
Threads
A thread gathers everything about one subject, across notes, meetings, documents, saved pages and email. Threads start once you have ten notes and documents together, or once Gmail finishes its first sync.
Settings › Features › Knowledge Threads shows the items analysed, the threads found and the top concepts. Click to Open Graph View draws one circle per thread, joined where threads share concepts; it needs at least two threads. Rebuild Threads builds them again. Reset everything clears them, and your dismissals with them. Neither touches your notes or documents.
Good to know
- Contacts in the sidebar has a page per person, with About (what orma knows), Tasks and History (every note, event, saved page and email they appear in). It appears once orma knows five people or you connect Google.
- How you like things, under Knowledge Threads, lists preferences orma picked up from what you said, like shorter summaries. Remove any it got wrong.
- Export to Markdown (Settings › Privacy & Data) includes a What orma knows folder: each detail, its source and the sentence. Documents, tasks, email and audio are not in the export.
- Building threads uses a small part of your monthly AI allowance.
Limits
- A new library shows few connections. That changes as you add to it.
- A detail is only as good as what orma read. Each one shows its source so you can check it.
- Dismiss and Not relevant apply to the page you are on, not to similar suggestions elsewhere.
- To find people, topics and details, orma sends the text to its AI models. See What leaves your Mac.
