That is the whole list. orma does not ask for screen recording, accessibility, location, camera or full disk access.

limits

  • It starts empty. orma knows nothing except what you give it. The first days are quiet. Importing what you already have shortens that.
  • Mac only. No iPhone app yet, no Windows, no web version. Intel Macs are not supported.
  • It has to be running for your other AI apps to reach it.
  • Email is in beta, Gmail only, and switched on per account.
  • AI features need a connection. Your library is local. Transcription, summaries and answers use models that run in the cloud.

questions

Does it record without me knowing?
No. The first time orma notices a call, it asks. Once you have recorded a call that way yourself, later calls show an 8-second countdown at the top of your screen and then record. You can cancel the countdown, stop in one click, discard the recording afterwards, or turn the whole thing off in Settings.
Does it join my calls as a bot?
No. It records the audio on your Mac. Nobody else on the call sees anything join.
Can it see my screen?
No. Screen recording is not in the app, and the permission is never requested.
Where is my data?
In a database in your user folder on your Mac. What leaves your Mac.
Can I get everything out?
Yes. Export to Markdown, any time, on any plan.
Which AI apps does it work with?
Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Le Chat today, and anything else that speaks MCP. Connectors.
What do I need to run it?
An Apple silicon Mac on macOS 14.4 or later.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet.
